Sandy Higgs
For 21 years, Sandy Higgs has lived the Rotary motto Service Above Self. Inspired by a true desire to serve, Sandy has been a steady, compassionate force within the Rotary Club of Key West and our greater community.
Current Roles: Chair of the Dental Program and the Sunshine Committee, ensuring both our community’s needs and our members are always cared for.
Favorite Rotary Projects: The 4th of July celebrations and the Annual Golf Tournament, which provides vital funding for the Dental Program and helps deliver quality dental care to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access.
Through Sandy’s dedication and our partnership with AHEC, children in the Florida Keys now have access to essential dental services changing lives one smile at a time.
Why Community Service Matters: “Meeting the needs of our community helps improve the lives of many.”
Cause She’s Passionate About: The Dental Program, making a lasting difference for local children and families.
Advice for New Rotarians: “Being a Rotarian is the most satisfying way to meet new friends while serving your community.”
Fun Fact: Sandy admits she’s a bit of a workaholic but she’s learning how to slow down, relax, and have fun!

Jill Cranney-Black
Jill has been a proud Rotarian for 15 years. She originally joined Rotary to network while running for office, but quickly discovered something even more powerful a lifelong commitment to humanitarian service. Through Rotary, her passion for public service grew beyond politics and into meaningful community impact.
Over the years, Jill has worn many Rotary hats, including:

Her favorite Rotary event? Casino Night, an event she helped launch with her sister 9 years ago that has become one of the club’s most successful and beloved fundraisers.
