On October 24, 2019, otherwise known as World Polio Day, Key West's three Rotary Clubs, The Rotary Club of Key West, Sunrise Rotary in the Conch Republic and the Sunset Rotary Club of Key West as well as the Key West High School Interact Club attended all of Key West's schools for Purple Pinkie Day. Students donated $1.00 to have their pinkie dyed purple, which in Polio stricken countries in the world, is a sign that a child has been immunized. All proceeds were donated to the Rotary International's Polio Fund which was matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
