Rotary Club of Key West’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Children’s Dental Care

Key West, FL – The Rotary Club of Key West successfully hosted its 21st Annual Rotary Golf Tournament on Sunday, January 19, 2025, bringing together community leaders, golf enthusiasts, and supporters for a day of fun and fundraising. This longstanding event continues to make a meaningful impact by benefiting the Rotary Children's Dental Fund, which provides essential dental care to children in need throughout Monroe County.

Through generous sponsorships, donations, and enthusiastic participation, the event raised over $21,000 to help provide dental care for underserved children, ensuring they have access to crucial preventive and restorative treatments. The club also awarded a grant from the Edward & Joan Knight Foundation for $20,000 bringing this years grand total to over $41,000 raised for the Children’s Dental Fund.

“For over two decades, this tournament has been a cornerstone of our commitment to improving children's health in Key West,” said Megan McDowell, Event Chair. “Every dollar raised goes directly toward ensuring that no child in our community suffers from preventable dental issues due to financial barriers.”

Since its inception, the Rotary Children's Dental Fund has provided thousands of local children with necessary dental care, addressing urgent needs such as cleanings, fillings, and emergency procedures. The continued success of the tournament underscores the impact that community-driven initiatives can have on public health.

The event featured an exciting scramble format, engaging contests, and a lively awards ceremony celebrating the top teams and standout performances. Special thanks go to the Key West Golf Club and Green Jacket Sponsor Historic Tours of America, as well as the dedicated volunteers, and the numerous local businesses & sponsors that made this year’s tournament possible.
